Low Temperature Resistance Fluorocarbon FKM Rubber Compound for Seals
Common Rubber Compounds and Their Unique Features
  1. Natural Rubber/Styrene-Butadiene Rubber/Butadiene Blend (NR/SBR/BR):
A versatile polymer blend of synthetic rubbers, NR/SBR/BR mimics the properties of general-purpose natural rubber and is widely used in off-the-road (OTR) tires.
  2. Styrene-Butadiene Rubber/Butadiene Blend (SBR/BR):
Commonly found in shoe soles, seals, and various rubber belts, this polymer blend improves abrasion resistance when combined with butadiene (BR).
  3. Ethylene Pro-pylene Diene Monomer Rubber (EPDM):
Known for its superior heat tolerance, elasticity, and ozone/UV resistance, EPDM is widely applied in automotive seals and as an electrical insulator.
  4. High Heat EPDM:
A high-performance EPDM compound, is optimized for extreme high-heat applications like automotive damping and foaming products.
  5. Chloroprene Rubber (CR):
With balanced properties like temperature tolerance, flame resistance, and chemical stability, CR is ideal for gaskets, wire insulation, and rubber belts.
  6. Epi-chlorohydrin Rubber (ECO):
ECO is a specialized polymer with excellent heat and oil resistance, making it suitable for various automotive components.
  7. Nitrile Rubber, Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber Blends (NBR, HNBR):
This butadiene-derived rubber excels in chemical and oil resistance, commonly used in oil hoses, seals, and disposable gloves.
  8. Nitrile/Plastic Blends (NBR/PVC, NBR/SBR/NR):
Easier to process and cost-effective, these blends are used in fire hoses, stators, and rollers, though they have slightly lower resistance in some areas.
  9. Butyl Rubber, Butyl Rubber/Natural Rubber Blend (IIR, IIR/NR):
Comprising iso-butylene and isoprene, this rubber is known for its durability and is used in defense boots, gloves, tire liners, and sealants.
  10. Silicone Rubber:
A family of elastomer polymers designed for high-heat applications, silicone rubber is commonly found in automotive heat-resistant components.
  11. Fluo-rine Rubber (FKM):
A high-end fluoroelastomer with exceptional oil and heat resistance, FKM is favored in industries like aerospace for applications such as high-performance gaskets, despite its higher cost.
